The information below provides some details about Jalsa transportation. If you need more information, please reach out to the transportation department using the following information.

Transportation to/from the Airport:

      • Full service from the Airports to Jalsa Gah will start on Thursday, June 16th, 2022.
      • Harrisburg Airport (MDT) is the preferred airport for this year’s USA Jalsa Salana. The Jalsa Gah is approximately 15 miles from the Harrisburg Airport.
      • Transportation From and To Baltimore Washington (BWI), Washington National (DCA) Airport, and Dulles Airport (IAD) will be provided. However, the shuttle frequency from these Airports will be less due to the distance from Jalsa Gah. These three airports range from 93 miles to 125 miles from the Farm Show Complex. Please plan additional time for your trip to reach the Jalsa Gah while requesting Transportation service from these three Airports.
      • All transportation needs from airports should be indicated on the registration form or via email to transportation@jalsasalana.us prior to June 4th, 2022. It is very important that we receive complete information with the required fields to provide you with the service with minimal delays. You can send a copy of your itinerary.
      • At the time of confirming your arrival date and time, a member of the transportation team will provide you with details of where to report after your flight has landed. The person on duty will welcome you and guide you to the next available shuttle to Jalsa Gah.

Transportation to/from the Train Station:

      • Harrisburg Amtrak Station (HAR) is the preferred Train Station for this year s USA Jalsa Salana. The Jalsa Gah is less than three (3) miles from the Train Station.
      • All transportation needs from train stations should be indicated on the registration form or via email to transportation@jalsasalana.us prior to June 4th, 2022.

Transportation to/from the Bus Station:

Transportation to/from Hotels:

      • Transportation to and from hotels will primarily be available for hotels that the Jalsa team has negotiated rooms with.
        • For a list of these hotels, please click here.
      • Transportation to other hotels will be available on a very limited basis. Guests should try to arrange their own transportation or share rides.

Other Transportation Available:

      • Transportation will also be available to and from Bait-ur-Rehman in Silver Spring, MD.
      • Pick up from Bait-ur-Rehman will be on Friday, June 17th at 9 am SHARP.
      • Return to Bait-ur-Rehman will be on Sunday, June 19th at 3 pm SHARP.
      • Please indicate your request for transportation from Bait-ur-Rehman by contacting Nazim Transportation directly at transportation@jalsasalana.us for additional information.

F.A.Q.

Frequently Asked Questions

What days will the transportation team be available?

Transportation will begin on Thursday prior to Jalsa and extend till Monday after the Jalsa. Anything outside of this will require an advance notice.

What are the preferred airports?

BWI and Harrisburg (MDT) are the airports of choice. Dulles (IAD) and Washington Raegan (DCA) are available by special request and pre-approval only.

How often do shuttles run from airports?

Shuttles from MDT will be running continuously but from all other airports, the shuttles will only run as needed. It is absolutely critical that you have submitted a request for transport and have been contacted by a member of our team to confirm receipt.

How is hotel transportation going to work?

If you are picked up from the airport, you will receive a small business card with contact information to request hotel pickups from. We ask that you call when you are ready and give 20-30 minutes for the driver to come pick you up so please plan your schedule accordingly. Drop-offs will run after the closing session of each day.

Will there be transportation for Fajr?

Unfortunately, no Fajr transport will be possible given the amount of coverage that would be required. We urge members to carpool where possible.

How late can I submit my travel request?

The transportation request portal is available until July 6th. After this, all requests must be made via email or phone.

Are there any rental car agreements?

The transportation team is working on negotiated rates with rental car companies and will send out information as soon as rates are locked in. Members are encouraged to use this service in lieu of transportation from IAD and DCA. Many times, online sites like Priceline and Hotwire offer very competitive rates.

Is transport provided from nearby mosques?

Yes, transport will be provided from Bait-ur-Rahman mosque on Friday with return on Sunday. This service is designed for the elderly and those who are unable to drive themselves to the Jalsa Gah. Transport will also be provided from Hadee Mosque in Harrisburg.

I am a volunteer, can I request transportation?

Ideally, you should speak to your Nazim to ensure they do not have any prior arrangements. If not, our team can assist as part of our routine pick-ups so long as they are within the normal course of business. Special requests should come from Nazimeen directly.
